Overview

Markash helps businesses manage customer conversations on WhatsApp and Instagram and turns those conversations into orders using AI. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's used.

Signing in with Facebook

Markash accounts are created and accessed using Facebook Login. When you sign in, we receive your basic public profile information (such as your name and profile picture) from Facebook. We do not currently request your email address through Facebook Login.

As part of the same sign-in flow, we ask for permission to access your Meta Business account information so we can connect your WhatsApp Business and Instagram Business accounts to Markash, and to read performance data from your connected Meta Ads accounts (such as ad spend, reach, and click-through rate). We request these permissions once, at login, rather than asking separately for each connection.

Phone number sign-in

Existing Markash users can also sign in with a one-time passcode sent to their phone number. This is only available for accounts that already exist — it cannot be used to create a new account.

Message content

When a business connects a WhatsApp or Instagram account to Markash, we receive the messages sent to and from that account so they can be displayed in the business's inbox and used to generate order drafts.

AI order extraction

Markash uses Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, to read customer conversations and draft structured orders — items, delivery address, and payment method. Message content is sent to Anthropic solely to generate these order drafts. Businesses review and confirm every AI-generated draft before it becomes an order.

Ad performance data

For businesses that connect a Meta Ads account, Markash retrieves campaign performance data (spend, reach, click-through rate, conversations, ROAS) via the Meta Graph API so it can be shown alongside the orders generated from those conversations.

Data storage

Business accounts, connected channels, conversation threads, messages, order drafts, and confirmed orders are stored securely in our database (MongoDB Atlas). We retain this data for as long as a business account remains active.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data or your customers' data to third parties. Information is shared only with the service providers necessary to operate Markash — including Meta (for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Ads Manager connectivity), Twilio (for WhatsApp messaging and phone verification), and Anthropic (for AI order extraction).
